ABOUT ME AND THIS SITE
It - "it" being my almost fanatical enthusiasm for ships and ship photography - began as a schoolboy in 1959, with inheritance of a battered Brownie box camera. An interest in ships began much earlier with weekends spent exploring merchant and naval vessels laid-up after WW II with my father or grandfather - both shipyard workers - in my then home town of Barrow-in-Furness, England. This enthusiasm has not changed over the years but the quality of my cameras and my photographic skills have. I now live close enough to the Port of Halifax, Nova Scotia, to be able to pursue my obsession when work or the weather doesn't intervene!
This site mainly, but not exclusively, displays photos from my own collection. Contributed photos - with due acknowledgement - and also correspondence providing further details of the ships on show will be welcomed as the site develops. |
